To Lam Visits Tsinghua University, Joins China–Vietnam Forum on Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation

On 14 April 2026, Tô Lâm, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of Vietnam, visited Tsinghua University and attended the China–Vietnam Forum on Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation in Beijing. The event was jointly organized by Tsinghua University and Vietnam National University, Hanoi, bringing together senior leaders, policymakers, and academic representatives from both countries.
In his keynote address, Tô Lâm highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in education, science, technology, and innovation, while also expanding youth and cultural exchanges to build long-term mutual understanding. Chinese and Vietnamese officials emphasized deeper collaboration in higher education, research, and technological innovation to support shared development goals.
The forum also featured multiple thematic sessions and the signing of 34 cooperation agreements between universities from both countries, covering talent development, research collaboration, and academic exchange. The event underscored growing China–Vietnam educational and innovation ties.
