Reception Dinner for Zhejiang University Professors Hosted by University of the Philippines
On October 17, 2025, a reception dinner hosted by the University of the Philippines (UP) took place at the Executive House in UP Diliman for professors from Zhejiang University (ZJU). The event included a welcome address from UP President Angelo Jimenez, who greeted the attendees, which featured Prof. Xiaozhou Xu, a UNESCO Chairholder in Entrepreneurship Education, and Prof. Mei Weihui, a visiting scholar at UCLA and a professor of comparative education at ZJU.

Zhejiang University is recognized as a leading institution in China and is a member of various prominent global higher education networks, such as the Association of Pacific Rim Universities and the International Association of Universities.
UP Officials in Attendance
In addition to President Jimenez, several UP officials were present, including Executive Vice President Leo Cubillan, Vice President for Academic Affairs Lorraine Pe Symaco, Vice President for Research and Innovation Joel Marciano, and other notable members of the faculty and administration.
Performances and Entertainment
The evening featured a performance by Prof. Michelle Nicolasora and Roxanne Abuel-Delos Reyes from the UP College of Music, who entertained guests with a selection of Filipino music. Faculty and staff from the UP College of Education also took part in the event.
Purpose of the Reception Dinner
The purpose of the reception dinner was to enhance academic collaboration between UP and ZJU, as both institutions seek to achieve shared objectives in education and research.
