Wang Qiuwang from XJTU Recognized as Fellow of the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers

Professor Wang Qiuwang from the School of Energy and Power Engineering at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) has been elected as a Fellow of the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers (ASTFE) for the year 2025. This election is notable as he is the first individual from mainland China to receive this honor. Professor Wang’s election follows his earlier recognition as a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in 2019.

Recognition of Contributions

The title of Fellow of ASTFE recognizes Professor Wang’s significant contributions to the fields of thermal and fluid engineering and to the society itself. His accolades include the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, designation as a National Leading Talent, and the role of Chief Scientist in a National Key Research and Development Program. Additionally, he serves as an executive board member of the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer and is a standing member of the assembly for International Heat Transfer Conferences.

Research Focus

Professor Wang’s research focuses on improving energy-saving and energy-storage processes, resulting in notable enhancements in industrial energy efficiency and the design of high-performance heat transfer equipment. His contributions to the field have been acknowledged with multiple national awards.

About the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers

Established in 2014, the ASTFE is a professional organization dedicated to the advancement of thermal-fluid science and engineering. The designation of Fellow represents the highest honor granted by the society, with a limit of six scholars selected annually since 2019. To date, only 30 individuals have received this distinction.
