Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has taken on the 2026 Rotating Presidency of ACNET-EngTech, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening regional collaboration in engineering and technology education.
The appointment was confirmed during the ACNET-EngTech Working Meeting held on 30 July 2026, coordinated by Tianjin University as the network’s Permanent Secretariat in China. Representatives from member institutions discussed future programmes, institutional capabilities, resource sharing and opportunities for deeper cooperation.
Since becoming a full member of ACNET-EngTech in 2023, UMPSA has actively expanded its engagement through academic collaboration, staff development and student mobility initiatives. The university has participated in training programmes at leading Chinese institutions, including Harbin Institute of Technology and Tianjin University, while also providing students with international learning opportunities through network-based programmes.
Under its 2026 presidency, UMPSA aims to introduce initiatives including trilateral mobility programmes involving China, ASEAN and other partner countries, collaborative classrooms, industry-driven projects, joint research activities and professional development programmes.
UMPSA Vice-Chancellor Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias said the university is committed to working with member institutions to create meaningful opportunities for academics and students through cross-border collaboration.
The presidency will also support cooperation between ACNET-EngTech and the Asia-Pacific Advanced TVET Hub, promoting industry engagement, applied research and the development of future-ready talent across the region.
