AEE 2025 Concludes: UNAIR Rector Awards Participants and Golden Ticket Recipients

The Airlangga Education Expo (AEE) 2025 concluded on February 9, 2025, at the Airlangga Convention Center located on the MERR-C Campus of Universitas Airlangga. The event drew thousands of participants who aimed to showcase their achievements for the opportunity to receive a “golden ticket,” which facilitates admission into the university.

Competitions and Awards

On the final day of the expo, several competitions were held, including contests for the best Instagram Reels and TikTok videos. Awards were distributed across six categories to honor the most outstanding faculties and booths, which included Most Informative, Most Visitors, Best Service, Most Interactive, and Best Overall Booth at AEE 2025.

Closing Ceremony

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, Rector of Universitas Airlangga, officially closed the expo and expressed appreciation to all participants for their contribution throughout the event, particularly those who traveled from outside East Java. Group photographs were taken with student council presidents and applicants for the golden tickets.

Insights on Admission Process

In his address to attendees, Prof. Nasih provided insights into the selection process for the golden ticket and SNBP programs, clarifying that these are selection mechanisms rather than traditional examinations. He encouraged students not to be discouraged by the competitive nature of the admissions process, noting that various opportunities for university entry remain available, including additional admission routes.

Golden Ticket Program Overview

The Rector elaborated on the Golden Ticket Program, highlighting it as a significant element of the AEE. The final awardees are expected to be announced in early March, with applications set to be evaluated based on diverse achievements from students, both within and outside of student council activities.

Main Categories of Golden Ticket Program

The Golden Ticket Program features two main categories: a regular category and a priority category, with the latter allowing for an increased admission quota. During the event, 16 high-achieving candidates were recognized as potential recipients of golden tickets.

Admissions Capacity and Competition

The university’s undergraduate admissions capacity for this year ranges from 5,000 to 6,000 students, with total admissions across various programs approximately 9,000 annually. The quota for SNBP is established at 2,100 students, making this a highly competitive process as the university’s applicant pool continues to expand.

Future Announcements

Final announcements regarding the golden ticket program and the consideration of additional candidates will follow the SNBP results, which are expected to be available after March 18, 2025.
