Fudan University Celebrates the Class of 2026 at Commencement Ceremonies

Fudan University held its 2026 commencement ceremonies on 2 July at Zhengda Gymnasium, awarding degrees to more than 10,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The event celebrated academic achievements while encouraging graduates to embrace challenges, innovation, and lifelong learning as they begin new journeys.
Addressing graduates, Fudan University President Jin Li encouraged students to view life as a marathon rather than a short race, emphasising perseverance, purpose, and meaningful contributions to society. He urged graduates to pursue their own paths, embrace collaboration, and remain resilient in an increasingly complex world.
Faculty members and alumni shared insights on adapting to technological transformation, personal growth, and social responsibility. Associate Professor Wen Shaoqing highlighted the importance of developing interdisciplinary skills in the age of artificial intelligence, while alumni representatives encouraged graduates to combine personal aspirations with broader societal progress.
The ceremonies also highlighted Fudan’s global community, with international graduates sharing how the university shaped their identities and ambitions across borders. Speakers encouraged students to pursue difficult challenges, remain curious, and continue seeking knowledge beyond the classroom.
As the Class of 2026 joins Fudan’s worldwide alumni network, graduates were reminded to uphold the university’s values of knowledge, determination, inquiry, and self-reflection while contributing to future innovation and global development.
