70 Gifted Students Selected by KAUST Begin Preparation for Overseas Education

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has welcomed the 18th cohort of its KAUST Gifted Student Program (KGSP), preparing 70 talented Saudi scholars for international study opportunities and future contributions to research and innovation.
The three-day Pre-Departure Orientation, held from 23 to 25 June 2026 at the KAUST campus, introduced students to the university’s flagship undergraduate scholarship programme while providing guidance, networking opportunities, and preparation for their academic journeys overseas. The scholars will pursue STEM-focused bachelor’s degrees at leading universities in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States before returning to KAUST for potential graduate studies.
Established in 2008, KGSP aims to develop future researchers, innovators, and leaders by supporting outstanding Saudi students and strengthening the Kingdom’s knowledge economy. Since its launch, the programme has supported more than 750 students at prestigious universities worldwide.
During the orientation, KAUST leaders and faculty members encouraged students to pursue their passions, embrace global learning experiences, and use their knowledge to create meaningful impact. Alumni also shared their experiences, highlighting how the programme shaped their academic growth and sense of responsibility.
Through KGSP, KAUST continues to nurture young talent and build a global network of scholars who will contribute to scientific advancement and national development.
