Zayed University Hosts 2026 Chinese Bridge UAE Regional Finals

Zayed University recently hosted the UAE Regional Finals of the 2026 Chinese Bridge Language Proficiency Competition at its Dubai Campus, reaffirming its commitment to international cultural exchange and language education.
Organised by the Chinese Embassy in the UAE and the Confucius Institute at Zayed University under the University’s Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) initiative, the competition is among the largest Chinese language events in the country. Each year, it attracts hundreds of participants, reflecting the growing interest in Chinese language learning across the UAE.
The competition featured categories for primary school, middle school, and university students. Participants demonstrated their Mandarin language skills through a variety of assessments, highlighting both linguistic proficiency and cultural understanding.
Addressing the audience, H.E. Zeng Jixin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE, described the competition as a bridge that connects cultures, promotes mutual understanding, and strengthens friendship between the UAE and China. Zayed University Provost and Chief Academic Officer Prof. Michael Allen emphasized the institution’s dedication to fostering global engagement through language education and cultural exchange.
Outstanding students were recognised during the awards ceremony, with winners selected across all categories. The event once again showcased the enthusiasm of young learners and underscored the role of education in strengthening people-to-people ties between the UAE and China.
