VNU Law Program Marks 25 Years of Vietnam–France Academic Cooperation

The VNU University of Law has celebrated the graduation of the 24th cohort of its Master’s Program in International Economic and Business Law, marking a significant milestone in a 25-year partnership with three leading French universities.

Since its launch in 2001, the program has produced more than 500 graduates from countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa. International students make up around 95 percent of enrolment, creating one of Vietnam’s most diverse academic environments in legal education. The program is also distinguished by its international faculty, with most lecturers coming from France.

The graduation ceremony, held on 11 June 2026, marked the conclusion of the current cooperation phase between VNU University of Law and its French partners: the University of Bordeaux, Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University, and Toulouse Capitole University. Building on its success, the institutions have agreed to extend the collaboration for another five years.

University leaders highlighted the program’s role in training highly skilled legal professionals while promoting cross-cultural academic exchange and European legal scholarship. The internationally recognised master’s degree, awarded on a rotating basis by the French partner universities, has strengthened the program’s reputation and global appeal.

Looking ahead, VNU University of Law aims to develop the program into a leading Southeast Asian hub for international business law education and research.
