CNRS Mathematics Institute Delegation Visits Kyoto University to Strengthen France–Japan Research Ties

A delegation from the CNRS Mathematics Institute, led by Deputy Scientific Director Frédéric Hérau, visited Kyoto University on June 9, 2026, to explore opportunities for strengthening academic and research collaboration between Japan and France.

During the visit, the delegation met with Kyoto University President Nagahiro Minato and Professor Hiroshi Kokubu, Executive Vice-President for Education, Student Affairs, and Admissions. The discussions focused on expanding existing partnerships and identifying new avenues for cooperation in mathematics, scientific research, and higher education.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange perspectives on current research initiatives, international mobility programs, and strategies for fostering deeper collaboration between researchers and students.
