Building a Global Future: From The American University in Cairo to New York City

The American University in Cairo graduate Ibrahim has transformed her liberal arts education into a dynamic international career that blends psychology, business, research, and the arts. After earning a degree in psychology with minors in business and theatre, she pursued both a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in counseling psychology at Columbia University Teachers College.
While studying in New York, Ibrahim worked as a programs and research coordinator for the Principles for Responsible Management Education initiative under the United Nations Global Compact. Her role focused on integrating positive psychology into business education, helping institutions create more engaging and people-centered learning environments.
Her work took her across the United States and to international conferences in Denmark and South Africa. Later, she followed her passion for mental health by becoming an associate psychotherapist at the Soho Center for Mental Health Counseling, with a focus on supporting Middle Eastern and Arab communities through culturally sensitive care.
Despite building a successful life in New York, Ibrahim credits AUC for shaping her confidence and versatility. Through academics, theatre, athletics, and campus life, she developed the skills to combine creativity, empathy, and leadership into a balanced and impactful career.
