Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Visits Peking University for Academic and Cultural Exchange

Her Royal Highness Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited Peking University on 11 April 2026, marking her 21st visit to the institution and reinforcing long-standing China–Thailand friendship. She was welcomed at the New Yanyuan Campus by senior university leaders and officials, who highlighted her enduring connection with the university.
During the visit, Peking University briefed the Princess on recent academic developments, particularly in emerging engineering disciplines. In return, she expressed support for expanded cooperation in engineering education and Chinese language learning between China and Thailand.
The Princess was honoured with the Global Development Research and Practice Award in recognition of her contributions to education and rural development across Southeast Asia. She also attended the launch of a Chinese language textbook developed jointly with Chulalongkorn University, where she serves as honorary editor-in-chief.
The visit concluded with a calligraphy gift expressing her wishes for innovation and integrity at the university.
