UGM Achieves Unique Honor as Sole Winner of the 2025 SPS Media Relations Award

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has been recognized as the sole recipient of the 2025 SPS Media Relations Award, specifically in the category of Best Media Relations Program. The award was presented during the 79th Anniversary of the Serikat Perusahaan Pers (SPS), which took place at Anjong Mon Mata in Banda Aceh on October 20.
Acknowledgment of UGM’s Achievement
This marks the first occasion that UGM has received the Bronze Winner title for its submission titled “UGM’s Contribution to Indonesia.” Astri Wulandari, the media relations officer for the university, accepted the award on behalf of UGM.
Recognition from University Officials
Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu, the university’s Secretary, acknowledged the efforts of the UGM Public Relations and News Team, which were recognized by SPS. He highlighted the team’s success in maintaining strong relationships with media partners through the Fortakgama network.
Evaluation Process and Future Motivation
Dr. Tonralipu noted the rigorous evaluation process that submissions underwent, which included judges from various professional sectors. He stated that the award serves as motivation for the Public Relations and News team to further enhance their media relations programs.
Overview of the SPS Event
The SPS event acknowledged contributions across multiple categories, including Media Relations Awards, Media Brand Awards, and Citra Karsa Awards, all themed around “Progressive Press, Advancing Indonesia’s Resources.” Januar Primadi Ruswita, Chairperson of the SPS Central Executive Board, expressed the hope that this recognition would encourage unity and reinforce the role of the press industry in advancing Indonesian journalism.
Categories of the SPS Awards
The SPS Awards featured six categories: Media Relations Award, Media Brand Award, Citra Karsa Award, Prerana Award, Lontar Award, and Lestari Award. This annual event recognizes the contributions of universities, state-owned enterprises, and private companies to the media and press ecosystem.
