World University of Bangladesh Launches Business Idea Competition 2026 to Promote Sustainable Innovation

World University of Bangladesh (WUB) officially launched the Business Idea Competition 2026 – Innovation for Sustainable Growth on 13 July 2026 at the Founding Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury Auditorium. The three-day event brings together students from across the university to present innovative business solutions that address contemporary economic, social, and environmental challenges.

The opening ceremony was led by Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor, with senior university leaders, deans, faculty members, judges, mentors, and students in attendance. In his keynote remarks, Professor Dr. Islam encouraged participants to embrace creativity, critical thinking, and ethical entrepreneurship, highlighting the role of student-led innovation in advancing sustainable development and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Speakers throughout the ceremony emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship driven by innovation as a catalyst for sustainable economic growth. They encouraged students to transform original ideas into practical ventures capable of delivering meaningful social and economic impact.

The competition features 24 teams representing various academic departments, each presenting business concepts spanning sustainability, technology, healthcare, agriculture, renewable energy, education, environmental conservation, legal services, tourism, and social entrepreneurship.

Through this flagship initiative, WUB continues to strengthen entrepreneurial education, foster innovation, and promote collaboration between academia and industry while preparing students to become future business leaders and changemakers.
