IMU University recently conducted its Student Exploratory Workshop from February 12 to 14, 2025, aimed at school leavers, including SPM, O-Level, and pre-university students interested in healthcare education and career opportunities. A key session was dedicated to the Bachelor of Nursing program, taking place on February 14, 2025, from 8:45 to 9:45 AM, which engaged 40 participants in a detailed exploration of nursing education.

Nursing Program Insights

Led by Dr. Lim Swee Geok, Head of the Nursing Division at IMU, the session provided insights into the nursing program’s structure and benefits. Dr. Lim emphasized the integration of theoretical study with practical training, mentioning that each semester includes eight weeks of clinical experience to prepare students for contemporary healthcare challenges. The session also covered various sponsorship opportunities available to nursing students, illustrating how IMU’s approach distinguishes its program from other nursing courses offered in the region.

Practical Learning Experiences

Participants engaged in practical sessions that allowed them to learn and practice essential life-saving techniques under the supervision of current nursing students and experienced facilitators. The hands-on activities included Adult and Infant Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), bandaging techniques, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), providing attendees with valuable skills and a clearer understanding of the responsibilities and quick decision-making required in healthcare settings.
