IPB University Achieves Top Ranking in Indonesia for THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025

IPB University has been ranked first in Indonesia in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025, as reported in the latest release. This ranking reflects the institution’s dedication to advancing interdisciplinary science.

Infrastructure Supporting Interdisciplinary Research

The Rector of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria, noted the university’s infrastructure that supports interdisciplinary research, which includes modern laboratories, a central library, incubators, and innovation hubs. He stated that IPB University features integrated and advanced laboratory facilities and various outdoor research locations, such as university forests and educational farms.

Field Laboratories and Research Groups

The university oversees multiple field laboratories, including CRC900-BEE in Jambi, Gunung Walat University Forest, Jonggol Innovation Valley, and Tinjil Island. In addition, IPB University has established research groups that integrate scholars from various disciplines, notably the Blockchain, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence Network (BRAIN).

Enhancing Research Efforts

To enhance interdisciplinary research efforts, IPB University has formed national and international research consortia and offers grant support to academic personnel for their publications and citations across different fields.

About THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025

The THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025 is a joint initiative with Schmidt Science Fellows, aiming to evaluate the contributions of universities toward interdisciplinary science. A total of 749 institutions from 92 countries were assessed, with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) recognized as the top global institution, followed by Stanford University and the National University of Singapore.
