University of Jordan and CBRL Strengthen Research Collaboration and Student Development Initiatives
The University of Jordan (UJ) is exploring new opportunities to expand academic cooperation with the Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL), focusing on joint research projects, student training programmes, and specialised workshops in the humanities and social sciences.
UJ President Prof. Nathir Obeidat held discussions with Dr. Jane Humphris, Director of CBRL, on developing collaborative activities that would support undergraduate and postgraduate students, while also strengthening research skills among early career researchers.
Prof. Obeidat welcomed closer cooperation with CBRL and emphasised the importance of building productive research partnerships in areas of mutual interest. He noted that such collaboration would enable students and academics to benefit from international expertise, exchange knowledge, and enhance research capacity.
The UJ President also highlighted the importance of supporting specialised research in Arabic literature and the contributions of prominent Arab literary and intellectual figures. He stated that greater international engagement in these fields could help showcase Arab scholarship and cultural heritage to a wider academic community.
Dr. Humphris praised UJ’s academic and research achievements and expressed CBRL’s commitment to expanding cooperation with the university. She noted that future partnerships would focus on strengthening research networks and developing academic capabilities.
Representatives from both institutions attended the meeting, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing international collaboration, research excellence, and knowledge exchange.
