IIT Bombay Leaders Meet with University of Tsukuba President Nagata

On April 16, 2025, Professor Shireesh B. Kedare, Director of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), and Professor Milind Atrey, Deputy Director, held a meeting with President Kyosuke Nagata of the University of Tsukuba. They were joined by Vice President for Global Affairs Osamu Ohneda, Professor Akira Uedono from the Institute of Pure and Applied Sciences, and Executive Officer Takeaki Sakurai, who is responsible for Research Management.

Strengthening Educational Partnerships

The meeting reinforced the collaboration between the University of Tsukuba and IIT Bombay, originally established through a Letter of Intent (LOI) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at improving higher education and research partnerships. Discussions during the visit centered on evolving their partnership, with particular attention to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)-sponsored “Multicultural Campus Project Toward Social Impact” initiative, along with potential collaborative programs.

Commitment to Collaborative Outcomes

This dialogue highlighted a mutual commitment to fostering partnerships that yield significant outcomes for both institutions.
