Tajikistan National Academy of Sciences President’s Visit to University of Tsukuba: Strengthening Research Collaboration
On December 5, Dr. Khushvakhtsoda Kobiljon Khushvakht, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, visited the University of Tsukuba. The visit included a meeting with key university officials, including President Kyosuke Nagata, Vice President for Global Affairs Jun Ikeda, Executive Officer Osamu Ohneda, and Dean Toshinobu Usuyama from the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Strengthening Ties with Tajikistan
The University of Tsukuba has developed notable ties with institutions in Tajikistan over recent years. In August, the university signed new inter-university exchange agreements with two Tajik institutions, including Tajik National University. Additionally, H.E. Mr. Farhod Salim, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Japan, visited the university during the same month to explore collaboration opportunities. Discussions during this visit centered on enhancing research collaboration in vital fields such as agriculture, biology, and astrophysics.
Tour of Research Centers
During his visit, Dr. Khushvakht also toured the International Institute for Integrative Sleep Medicine, led by Masashi Yanagisawa, and the Cybernics Research Center, directed by Yoshihiro Kuroda.
Future Collaboration Prospects
This visit is anticipated to further solidify the partnership between Tajikistan and the University of Tsukuba, potentially leading to increased research collaboration and academic exchange in the future.
