LKST IPB University Conducts Monitoring and Evaluation for ADB’s PRIMESTeP Innovation Research Program Funding Teams

On November 12, 2024, the Institute of Science and Technology Areas (LKST) at IPB University conducted an internal monitoring and evaluation session for teams receiving funding from the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Promoting Research and Innovation Through Modern And Efficient Technology Parks Project (PRIMESTeP). The session was held at the IPB International Convention Center in Bogor.

Objective of the Initiative

According to Professor Dwi Guntoro, Assistant for Innovation Development at LKST, this initiative aims to advance research and innovation with financial support derived from the Foreign Grant Loan (PHLN) provided by ADB. The program is designed to accelerate the innovation process, facilitating the rapid implementation of developed solutions within industry settings.

Focus Areas of PRIMESTeP

The PRIMESTeP program focuses on two primary themes: research development and innovation development. A total of 10 teams from IPB University were selected to participate after a comprehensive proposal submission and evaluation process. This process included an initial review of administrative completeness followed by assessments conducted by a helpdesk. Proposals with the highest scores were then subjected to further evaluation prior to being approved for funding.

Funding Structure

Funding for this initiative is disbursed in two phases, with 70% provided in the initial disbursement and the remaining 30% allocated in a subsequent phase. The internal evaluation process assesses both the financial utilization of the funds and the overall progress of the projects to ensure alignment between funding and outcomes. Should any challenges arise, strategies and recommendations will be developed to address these issues.
