World Modern Governance Symposium and First International Public Administration Forum Held at Fudan University

The World Symposium on Modern Governance and the First International Academic Forum of the School of Public Administration and Policy officially opened at Fudan University. The event was jointly organized by the Global South Think Tank Cooperation Alliance and Fudan University, and hosted by the university’s School of International Relations and Public Affairs.

Centered on the theme “Better Government, Better Governance: Government Capacity and Governance Effectiveness in the Process of Globalization,” the conference brought together representatives from 14 countries, including national academies of governance, public policy institutions, and leadership training organizations, alongside leading scholars in related fields. Discussions focused on government capacity, modernization of governance systems, institutional development, and digital innovation.

Opening remarks were delivered by Jin Xin, Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Fudan University Party Secretary Qiu Xin. Speakers emphasized the growing importance of global cooperation in advancing modernization governance and addressing shared development challenges.

Throughout the forum, participants engaged in in-depth discussions across key themes such as governance capability, institutional strengthening, digital transformation, and global governance frameworks. Representatives from countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America shared comparative experiences and policy insights.

The event also featured the signing of cooperation agreements with international public administration institutions and the launch of a joint research initiative on “Shared Development” toward the post-2030 global agenda, aimed at strengthening South-South academic collaboration and policy exchange.
