DLSU Commits to Laudato Si’ Action Platform and Sustainable Transformation

De La Salle University (DLSU) has formally joined the Laudato Si’ Action Platform, committing to become a Laudato Si’ University as part of its long-term mission to advance sustainability, social responsibility, and holistic education.

Rooted in its Lasallian identity, the university reaffirmed its dedication to serving “the last, the least, and the lost,” aligning its institutional values with ecological stewardship and social justice. Ten years after integrating the principles of Laudato Si’ and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into its Vision-Mission, DLSU continues to strengthen its commitment to caring for the environment and promoting integral human development.

This year, as the university celebrates the 50th anniversary of its charter, it also launches its Golden Jubilee Strategy for transformative education. The initiative marks the beginning of a seven-year journey to fully embed the Laudato Si’ Goals across all academic, operational, and community engagement activities.

University leadership emphasized that environmental care, social justice, and spiritual growth are deeply interconnected. Through this “Integral Ecology” framework, DLSU aims to ensure that knowledge creation directly contributes to the restoration and protection of the common home.

As it concludes its Golden Jubilee year, DLSU renews its commitment to being “attuned to a sustainable Earth,” reinforcing its mission to shape responsible leaders for future generations.
