Research Teams Tap Singtel AI Cloud for Advanced AI-Driven Studies

Researchers at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) are accelerating scientific discovery by leveraging Singtel Digital InfraCo’s AI cloud platform, RE:AI, powered by Nvidia H200 GPUs. The collaboration is enabling breakthroughs across multiple disciplines, including urban sustainability, healthcare, robotics, and geophysics.
In the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Assistant Professor Li Hongying is using advanced simulations to model airflow, heat distribution, and pollutant movement in urban environments. These simulations help city planners better understand air quality and urban heat effects, but traditionally required more than a day of computing time. With RE:AI, processing time has been reduced to minutes.
In healthcare, Assistant Professor Wilson Goh from the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is applying AI to analyze high-resolution pathology images, improving the speed and accuracy of medical diagnosis. This allows clinicians to make more informed decisions and potentially improve patient outcomes.
Other NTU researchers are also benefiting from the platform, including robotics experts developing intelligent systems and earth scientists running advanced earthquake simulations. Across 19 research teams, RE:AI is significantly reducing computation times and expanding research capacity.
NTU leadership emphasized that AI-driven infrastructure is essential for modern scientific progress, while Singtel highlighted its role in supporting Singapore’s national research and innovation goals through secure, sovereign cloud capabilities.
