South Korean Consulate-General Delegation Visits Kyoto University to Strengthen Academic Ties

A delegation from the Consulate-General of the Republic of Korea in Osaka, led by Lee Youngchae, visited Kyoto University on 17 April 2026 to strengthen academic and research ties.
During the visit, the delegation met with Kyoto University President Nagahiro Minato, along with senior leadership including Executive Vice-President Prof. Tetsuo Sawaragi and Vice-President Prof. Yasuyuki Kono. Discussions focused on expanding collaboration between Kyoto University and institutions in the Republic of Korea, particularly in research partnerships, academic exchange, and international engagement.
The meeting highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation in advancing higher education and innovation. Both sides expressed interest in deepening institutional partnerships and fostering stronger connections between researchers and students.
The visit reflects ongoing efforts to enhance Japan–Korea academic collaboration and promote knowledge exchange, reinforcing Kyoto University’s role as a key global partner in higher education and research development.
