CUVC 2026: Advancing Veterinary Innovation with Global Experts at Chulalongkorn University

The 25th Chulalongkorn University Veterinary Conference (CUVC 2026) was conducted in conjunction with the S.E.A. Plus SWINE CONFERENCE 2026 on March 9-10, 2026, at the Centara Grand at CentralWorld Hotel. The theme of this year’s conference was “Translational Veterinary Research: Connecting Research to Veterinary Applications,” which provided an international forum for the exchange of knowledge, research, and innovations within the field of veterinary science.

Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony featured Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, who delivered a keynote lecture outlining the university’s strategic vision for global engagement and its initiatives aimed at linking veterinary knowledge to broader societal, health, and sustainability issues.

Collaborative Efforts

CUVC 2026 sought to enhance its collaborative efforts across the Southeast Asia Plus region, welcoming academic experts and professionals from countries such as South Korea, Japan, China, and Australia. Discussions focused on pertinent topics including disease prevention and swine health management, considering the economic importance of pigs within the region.

Pre-Congress Activities

Pre-congress activities, which took place on March 7-8, included hands-on workshops aimed at improving practical skills related to both companion animals and livestock. The main congress showcased presentations of research and innovations with real-world applications aligned with the theme of Translational Veterinary Research, alongside opportunities for partnerships with industry stakeholders and international organizations.

Veterinary Innovation Pitching Competition

A notable feature of the conference was the Veterinary Innovation Pitching competition, which encouraged students from schools and universities to develop business application ideas. This year’s competition attracted significant participation, with 430 teams submitting entries that advanced through various stages of development and presentation at the university level.

Conclusion

Overall, CUVC 2026 highlighted the Faculty of Veterinary Science’s position as a regional center for veterinary knowledge, working to bridge the gap between research and practical applications in support of animal health, food security, and sustainable development on a global scale.
