Signing Ceremony for Renewing the Academic Partnership Agreement between Sophia University and UD Trucks

On January 15, a signing ceremony took place at the Yotsuya Campus of Sophia University to renew the Academic Partnership Program (APP) agreement with UD Trucks. This agreement, first established in 2014, aims to develop human resources that can contribute effectively to the global community.

Overview of the Partnership

The renewal marks the fourth extension of the APP, which originally began when UD Trucks was part of the Volvo Group. Since its inception, the partnership has provided a framework for collaborative courses and internship programs that offer students practical learning opportunities with a global perspective. Participants in these courses explore topics such as global corporate strategy formulation and supply chain management, specifically tailored to UD Trucks’ operational model. The internship component enables students to work for approximately two weeks alongside a diverse range of employees.

Ceremony Highlights

The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from UD Trucks, including President and CEO Mr. Ito, CFO and Senior Vice President Mr. Fujiwara, General Manager of HR Services Ms. Saito, and Culture Director Ms. Dalmonte. The event was noted for its cordial and welcoming atmosphere.

Future Collaboration

Looking ahead, Sophia University and UD Trucks plan to enhance their collaboration through the APP, with a focus on further developing human resources that can make meaningful contributions to the global society.
