Korpagama Honors Retired UGM Employees with Appreciation Certificates and Solidarity Funds

On January 26, 2026, the Universitas Gadjah Mada Employees Corps (Korpagama) held an event to present Appreciation Certificates and Solidarity Funds to eleven employees who recently retired. This annual event took place at the Korpagama Office located in the B6 Complex of Bulaksumur and aims to recognize the dedication and service of faculty and staff during their transition into retirement.
Recognition of Service
Professor Achmadi Priyatmojo, Chair of Korpagama, indicated that this initiative has been ongoing since September 2022, with the objective of honoring the contributions of retiring employees. The official retirement age for professors is set at 70, while lecturers retire at 65 and staff at 58, with retirement occurring on their respective birthdays. Consequently, certificates and funds are distributed one month following the issuance of the official retirement decree.
Encouraging Future Engagement
During the event, Professor Priyatmojo encouraged retiring employees to utilize their newfound free time by spending it with family and participating in community activities. He underscored that retirement should be seen as an opportunity for continued positive contributions to society, while also highlighting the importance of maintaining good health.
Support from Korpagama
Korpagama provides support to UGM lecturers and academic staff throughout their careers and cooperates with university leadership to advance the institution’s mission and vision.
