Xiamen University Malaysia’s School of Economics and Management Hosts Inaugural Student Orientation Event
The School of Economics and Management at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUMC) conducted its inaugural orientation event, MonopoliSEM, on October 19, 2025. This initiative was coordinated by the School of Economics and Management Student Council (SEMSC) with oversight from Dr. Liu Lingzi and Dr. Tan Khar Mang.
Event Theme and Activities
MonopoliSEM adopted a theme inspired by the board game Monopoly, aiming to foster a creative and interactive environment for new students. The orientation featured a series of enjoyable and educational activities, which included performances showcasing both traditional and modern acts, ice-breaking sessions, game stations, and a variety of engaging experiences.
Participation and Diversity
The event saw participation from over 200 individuals, including SEMSC members, facilitators, game masters, and new students enrolled across the School’s four academic programs: Accounting, E-Commerce, Finance, and International Business. Participants represented a wide array of nationalities, including Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Russia, Vietnam, Zambia, Kenya, Tunisia, Yemen, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
