UBD Drone Show Dazzles 21,000 Spectators in Celebration Under the Sky at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium
On October 11, 2025, the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium hosted a drone light show and fireworks display as part of the Malam Gemilang UBD Drone Show, attracting an audience of 21,000. The event was co-organized by Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Imagine Sdn Bhd.
Attendance and Key Dignitaries
The event was attended by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, along with key dignitaries including the Minister of Home Affairs, the Minister of Education, and the Vice-Chancellor of UBD. Members of the royal family, including the Crown Prince and other princes, were also present.
Support and Performances
Support for the event came from various governmental ministries and partners, including Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam and Unified National Networks Sdn Bhd. Malaysian singer Anuar Zain performed during the evening, presenting popular songs such as “Keabadian Cinta.”
Drone Performance Highlights
A noteworthy aspect of the event was a 15-minute drone performance that involved teams from Imagine Sdn Bhd and 40 students from UBD. The performance featured drones creating 14 distinct images, synchronized with live music performed by musicians and accompanied by dancers.
Fireworks Display and Conclusion
The event concluded with a 12-minute fireworks display, which marked the 79th birthday of His Majesty and UBD’s 40th anniversary. The attendance and engagement of the audience underscored a sense of loyalty and appreciation for the Sultan and the nation.
