IPB University Welcomes Yamaguchi University Delegation for Collaborative Visit

On October 22, 2024, the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) at IPB University hosted a delegation from Yamaguchi University, Japan. The focus of the visit was to enhance collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the field of animal laboratory studies.

Delegation Reception

The delegation was received by Dr. Amrozi, Dean of SKHB IPB University, and included Dr. Tamoaki Murata, Director of the Yamaguchi University Animal Center Laboratory, as well as representatives from the Faculty of Medicine at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University in Jakarta.

Overview of Facilities

During the meeting, Prof. Arief Boediono, Chairman of the Animal Ethics Commission at SKHB IPB University, presented an overview of the institution’s facilities. He emphasized the importance of funding and skilled personnel for effective facility management and highlighted the need for coordination among staff to minimize miscommunication.

Discussion and Tour

Key faculty members from SKHB IPB University, including Drh. Tri Isyani Tungga Dewi, Dr. Mawar Subangkit, and Dr. Leny Maylina, engaged in discussions with the visiting delegation. The delegates also toured various research-supporting facilities, such as the Teaching Animal Hospital (RSHP), the ART Laboratory, and the Bio-Bank.

Future Collaboration Prospects

Both institutions expressed a mutual interest in pursuing further collaboration in areas such as education, animal laboratory research, and community service.
