Universiti Sains Malaysia Partners with KINCHO to Strengthen Global Collaboration

The Universiti Sains Malaysia Vector Control Research Unit (VCRU), School of Biological Sciences, hosted a courtesy visit from senior management of Dainihon Jochugiku Co., Ltd. (KINCHO), led by President Shiro Ueyama, further strengthening long-standing international collaboration in vector control research.
The visit builds on a strategic partnership established in 2024 between VCRU and KINCHO, focusing on vector control innovation, bioefficacy evaluation, and the development of globally recognised insect control technologies. The collaboration has already completed its first phase, contributing to scientific advancements and product evaluation in public health vector management.
During the visit, USM representatives, including senior university leadership and faculty members, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to industry–academia collaboration and global research networking. KINCHO, founded in 1885, is a leading Japanese company and a pioneer in aerosol insecticide and vector control technologies.
VCRU is internationally recognised as the only WHO-approved facility for producing WHO Test Tube Assay Kits and impregnated papers for insecticide resistance monitoring, supplying over 130 countries worldwide. It also holds OECD GLP and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certifications, reflecting its strong quality and research standards.
The visit further enhances cooperation in research, innovation, technology transfer, and expert exchange, reinforcing both institutions’ commitment to advancing global public health solutions and sustainable vector control strategies.
