UNDIP Achievement Kaleidoscope 2025: Highlights of UNDIP’s National and Global Achievements and Innovations

Semarang, December 31, 2025 – The year 2025 was significant for Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), positioning itself as a distinguished research university and a contributor to societal welfare.

During the year, UNDIP achieved various strategic milestones in academic excellence, innovative research, governance, sustainability, and community service. These accomplishments resulted from the collaborative efforts of faculty, students, and various institutional initiatives.

This report outlines the notable achievements as documented on UNDIP’s official communication channels, with the intention of fostering continued excellence within the academic community into 2026.

Early Achievements: Recognitions and Global Engagements

The year began with notable successes for UNDIP. On January 8, students from the Vocational School of Information and Public Relations received Second Place in a National Essay Competition. On January 9, the Master’s Program in Nutrition Science from the Faculty of Medicine gained recognition as the top program nationally, achieving the highest score according to SINTA. By January 30, UNDIP advanced to 4th in the Webometrics ranking and secured 2nd place in Indonesia for Nutrition and Food Science, according to EduRank.

February brought international recognition, as the Antawirya Team earned First Place at the Shell Eco Marathon in Qatar on February 14. Additionally, medical students from the Anesthesiology Residency Program received multiple awards at the National Anesthesiology Symposium on February 10. March 1 saw the Faculty of Economics and Business’s Investment Gallery recognized as the best nationally by the Indonesia Stock Exchange. By March 20, three disciplines from UNDIP made it into the Top 500 of the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

Second Quarter: Competitive Edge and Rankings Advancement

In April, UNDIP showcased competitive prowess, with Vocational School students winning Double Gold Medals at the international JISF competition on April 21. The PSHT Student Activity Unit secured the 3rd Overall Champion title at the National Pencak Silat Championship on April 20. In May, innovative environmental projects developed by Vocational School students earned three national accolades. Furthermore, on May 24, Dr. Choirul Anam from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics was ranked among the world’s 100 most influential researchers in CT Scan studies, while UNDIP achieved its highest Webometrics ranking, securing 4th place nationally.

June marked a significant achievement as UNDIP ranked among the Top 10 Best National Universities according to UNS Jawametrik on June 3. Following this, on June 19, the university rose 101 positions to achieve a global rank of 624 in the QS World University Rankings 2026.

Mid-Year: Research and Innovation Enhancement

July highlighted UNDIP’s research commitment, attaining 5th place nationally in PKM Belmawa Dikti funding with 39 funded proposals on July 15. On July 24, UNDIP ranked 5th globally in the Emerald Publishing High Usage Award. Additional honors were received on July 25 with the “Accelerated Development Catalyst Campus” award.

August continued the trend of successes, with Team Fezicrops earning a Gold Medal at the WYIE competition in Malaysia. The Engineering Student Choir excelled at the Taipei International Choral Competition on August 16. Additionally, on August 6, UNDIP was designated as *Entrepreneurial Marketing Campus for IMPACT 2025*.

Final Quarter: Recognition for Sustainable Initiatives and Student Success

September saw eight UNDIP scientists included in the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list. On September 26, UNDIP’s Directorate of Media Networking, Community, and Public Communication received a Bronze Award at the seventh Anugerah Humas Indonesia (AHI) in the Government Public Relations Program category. In October, the Antawirya Team won First Place at KMHE 2025, and UNDIP excelled in both Undergraduate and Diploma categories at the National Pilmapres Competition. The university also ranked 2nd nationally for Patent Applications, reflecting its commitment to innovation and sustainable development.

In November, UNDIP achieved second place for Best University Social Media at the Anugerah Media Humas (AMH) 2025. It made a notable debut at 144th place in the THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings on November 21 and completed the 38th National Student Creativity Program (PIMNAS) ranked 4th nationally with 14 medals.

The year concluded with the UNDIP Student Choir being awarded the Grand Prix Champion title at the Macau International Choir Competition on December 3. On December 7, three UNDIP student teams received national awards at Abdidaya Ormawa 2025. The university was recognized for its environmental efforts, ranking 2nd in the UI GreenMetric on December 16. The year ended with awards for Gold and Bronze winners at Anugerah Diktisaintek 2025 on December 19 and a Science and Technology Award from ITSF for an Engineering professor at UNDIP.

Additionally, UNDIP reinforced its commitment to public service by establishing a Center for Immigration Point on campus, which enhances both national and international academic mobility.

The achievements of 2025 underscore the importance of commitment, collaboration, and a focus on innovation. Moving forward, Universitas Diponegoro aims to leverage these successes to strengthen its position as a leading research institution and a valuable contributor to societal progress.
