Chulalongkorn University Hosts ASEAN Cultural Performance in Collaboration with Nine Universities under AUN-AYCF Network

Chulalongkorn University recently organized an ASEAN cultural performance through its Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, as part of the ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum (AUN-AYCF) Thailand Network. The event was held on September 12, 2025, at the Music Hall in the Art and Culture Building, running from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The cultural performance involved collaboration with several other institutions, including Chiang Mai University, Mahidol University, Burapha University, Prince of Songkla University, Rangsit University, Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University, Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University, and Bunditpatanasilpa Institute. A total of 167 students took part, presenting a diverse array of performances that highlighted the cultural richness of the ASEAN region.

Performance Highlights

The program featured various traditional performances, including Thai classical dances, a unity-themed piece titled “Malie Ruam Jai,” and a newly composed musical arrangement named “Benja Saiyai: AUN-AYCF Thailand University Ensemble” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pattara Komkam. Additional elements included a choral rendition of the “ASEAN Way” song and demonstrations of traditional Thai martial arts.

The direction of the performances was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pattara Komkam, in collaboration with faculty members from the participating universities. The event sought to provide students with practical experience while fostering collaboration and cultural understanding among members of the ASEAN community.

Objectives of the Network

As of 2025, the AUN-AYCF Thailand Network comprises five primary universities along with four additional members. The network’s objectives include enhancing creativity in music and performing arts, promoting student involvement in cultural exchanges, and creating networking opportunities. Beyond organizing annual performances, the network prepares students for international showcases, fostering engagement with over 1,000 student members in various cultural activities.

This initiative underscores the dedication of the participating universities to nurture cultural appreciation and collaboration among countries in the ASEAN region.
