BNU International Student Wins First Prize in 13th Beijing College Students’ Calligraphy Competition

An international student from Beijing Normal University (BNU), Ji Jing Jing, won the First Prize at the 13th Beijing College Students’ Calligraphy Competition. The competition, themed “Enduring Legacy of Ink, Eternal Glory of the Great Wall,” was organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and showcased 683 submissions from 54 universities in Beijing.
Acknowledgment of Exceptional Talent
Ji Jing Jing’s award recognized her exceptional calligraphy skills in a competitive environment. BNU nominated three international students—Ji Jing Jing, Pongviengthong Souphaluck, and Nguyen Huyen Anh—to participate in the preliminary rounds, all of whom competed in the International Students’ Hard Pen Category.
Training and Preparation
The participants benefited from systematic training under Ms. Qu Chenxi from the School of Arts and Media, which helped them refine their techniques. Ji Jing Jing’s work, which emphasized Great Wall culture, distinguished her among 117 finalists in the competition.

This achievement reflects Ji Jing Jing’s artistic abilities and the commitment of BNU to promote cultural engagement among international students, encouraging them to explore and express their talents within the context of Chinese cultural heritage.
