4th Cherry Blossom Festival at Xi’an Jiaotong University: A Celebration of Culture and Nature

The 4th Cherry Blossom Festival at Xi’an Jiaotong University commenced with an opening ceremony at the Xingqing Campus on March 31, 2025. The festival will continue until April 6 and features six themed checkpoints, eleven themed landscapes, and twenty-one activities intended to enrich the university’s cultural offerings.
Festival Activities and Engagement
During the festival, participants can engage with historical artifacts available at various checkpoints, enjoy readings of classical poetry, take part in numerical games, create spring-themed paintings, convey messages to the cherry blossoms, and explore applications of AI technology. The event is designed to highlight the university’s picturesque campus, cultural heritage, and vibrant atmosphere, providing a comprehensive experience for both students and faculty.
Themed Checkpoints
The themed checkpoints are established at notable locations including the museum, library, mathematics building, and East-West Garden. Attendees can engage in activities at these sites and receive stamps as they complete each one.
Key Events
Key events during the festival include the 7th “Cherry Blossom Cup” poetry competition and the Cherry Blossom Hanfu Festival, where participants can don traditional attire while walking through the blooming flowers. Additional activities include the “Little Cherry Blossom” IP parade, the Silken Spring Art Exhibition, and various online contests that focus on cultural and artistic themes, appealing to diverse interests.
Merchandise and Keepsakes
Merchandise offered at the festival features cherry blossom-themed felt bags, scented soaps, bookmarks, cardholders, uniquely designed notebooks, and school spirit stickers, providing attendees with keepsakes to remember the cherry blossom season.
