MMU 2024 Research Appreciation and Award Ceremony Celebrates Research Excellence - AppliedHE

Multimedia University (MMU) held its Research Appreciation and Award Ceremony on February 6, 2025, recognizing research achievements from the latter half of 2024. The event took place in the Multipurpose Hall at the Cyberjaya campus and was officiated by President Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud.

Emphasis on Research Contribution

During the ceremony, Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohammad Faizal Ahmad Fauzi, the Director of Research Management, emphasized the role of research in enhancing the university’s academic profile and improving its rankings on a global scale. Several prominent researchers were honored, including three professors from the Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET) and the Faculty of Business (FOB), who were named in the 2024 World’s Top 2% Scientists List by Stanford University. Contributions to high-impact SCOPUS journals by various authors were also acknowledged in the fields of Science & Technology and Social Sciences.

Recognition of Leadership and Achievements

Ir. Prof. Dr. Zulfadzli, Vice President of Market Exploration, Engagement, and Touchpoint (VP MEET), received special recognition for his leadership in the Research Management Centre, where he has served from 2013 to 2024. His efforts were noted as instrumental in advancing MMU’s research initiatives.

Celebrating Innovation

The event also recognized the editorial team of MMU Press and presented the Innovation Award, which highlighted the successful intellectual property filings by the university’s researchers. The ceremony concluded with a group photo, celebrating the achievements of MMU’s research community.
