Job Description

The newly appointed assistant professors will join a research group led by Distinguished Professor Keisuke Goda. Their research will focus on small extracellular vesicles, particularly exosomes. The role will involve elucidating the molecular mechanisms of these vesicles and developing applications for industrial and medical purposes. Areas of research will include exosome engineering, which utilizes nanotechnology to modify biological molecules such as DNA, RNA, and proteins.

Key research applications may involve:

  • Liquid biopsy and diagnostics
  • Anti-aging research
  • Drug delivery systems
  • Other related biomedical and industrial fields

Selected candidates will collaborate with various institutions, including:

  • SiRIUS Institute of Medical Research and the Graduate School of Medicine at Tohoku University
  • International Center for Synchrotron Radiation Innovation Smart (SRIS), Tohoku University
  • Department of Chemistry, University of Tokyo
  • Department of Bioengineering, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Possession of a PhD at the time of appointment
  • Strong motivation to advance research in life sciences and medicine
  • Relevant knowledge and research experience in these fields
