Thammasat University, Lampang Campus discussed with GISTDA to consider the installation of a satellite ground station
Thammasat University, Lampang Campus, led by Asst. Prof. Pimchat Rossutham, Assistant Rector for Student Affairs and Corporate Communications, Lampang Campus, discussed with Assoc. Prof. Pornchai Trarkulwaranont, Member of the House of Representatives, Palang Pracharat Party and Mr. Darmongritt Niammaud, Deputy Director of Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Public Organization) or GISTDA under the support of Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) considers the installation of satellite receivers and the Geospatial Life-Long Learning program under the THEOS-2 project to drive Thailand in the future at the area within Thammasat University, Lampang Campus, to be a center of receiving and distributing data for resource exploration and geo-informatics. This allows the northern region to be able to use satellite data in both state and social security, disaster Management, urban and economic corridors management, agricultural management, natural resources, and water management which enable agencies in the northern region to obtain better information on developing, preventing and solving problems.
