The Talal and Madiha Zein AUB Innovation Park (iPark) has introduced the Tech4Impact Lab, a new initiative designed to help students transform academic projects into practical technology solutions with real-world impact. The programme, piloted in collaboration with the American University of Beirut (AUB) Computer Science Department, provides a structured pathway for students to further develop promising ideas beyond the classroom.
Launching in autumn 2026, the Tech4Impact Lab will identify high-potential student projects and support their growth through expert guidance, industry mentorship, and access to iPark’s startup support and acceleration programmes. The initiative aims to move beyond traditional project competitions by creating a continuous development ecosystem where students can refine, test, and scale their innovations.
Participants will be encouraged to evaluate the challenges they aim to solve, understand user needs, and explore the potential impact and scalability of their technology-based solutions. Through this approach, the programme seeks to nurture entrepreneurial thinking and innovation among students.
The Tech4Impact Lab brings together students, faculty members, industry professionals, alumni, and aspiring entrepreneurs, strengthening collaboration between academia, industry, and the wider innovation ecosystem in Lebanon and the region. The initiative represents a significant step towards empowering students to turn creative ideas into impactful technological solutions.
