World University of Bangladesh Showcases Engineering Innovation at Mechanical Carnival 2026

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at World University of Bangladesh successfully hosted Mechanical Carnival 2026 on July 17, 2026, bringing together nearly 1,600 students from the university’s day and evening programmes. The event celebrated academic excellence, innovation, teamwork, and student engagement through a variety of educational, sporting, and cultural activities.

The carnival was attended by senior university leaders, including Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, along with deans, department heads, faculty members, administrators, alumni, and invited guests. In his welcome address, Professor A.K.M. Amirul Islam highlighted the importance of leadership, innovation, collaboration, and professional development in preparing future mechanical engineers.

A key feature of the event was the prize-giving ceremony, which recognised winners of the Clemon’s Uni Campus Cricket Tournament and the Inter-Department Collaboration Futsal Cup for their outstanding performances and sportsmanship. Participants also took part in a cake-cutting ceremony, a victory rally, and a cultural programme featuring music, dance, and drama, showcasing students’ talents beyond the classroom.

As one of the department’s largest student events, Mechanical Carnival 2026 strengthened connections among students, faculty, alumni, and university leadership. The celebration reflected World University of Bangladesh’s commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and holistic student development while creating a vibrant and inclusive campus community.
