Khalifa University and UCL Global Business School for Health: Analyzing the Impact and Opportunities of AI Adoption in UAE and UK

Khalifa University and University College London’s Global Business School for Health recently collaborated to host a seminar titled “AI in Health Systems, Business and Society” at Khalifa University Main Campus. The seminar aimed to examine the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) across various sectors, with a particular focus on ethical, responsible, and sustainable practices for its implementation in both the UAE and the UK.

Notable presenters included Professor Nora Colton, Director of the Global Business School for Health at UCL; Dr. Omar Najim, Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Khalifa University; and Dr. Siddiq Anwar, Consultant Physician at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City and Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Khalifa University.

Professor Mahmoud Al-Qutayri, Associate Provost for Academic Operations at Khalifa University, provided an overview of the university’s academic programs and collaborative initiatives. A panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Mecit Can Emre Simsekler, Acting Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Management Science and Engineering, explored the necessity of cross-sector collaboration in developing AI strategies aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery and societal well-being.
