CGSC Hosts Welcome Tour for New Graduate Students at Loyola Heights Campus

The Committee on Graduate Student Concerns (CGSC) conducted a welcome tour for newly enrolled graduate students at the Loyola Heights campus on February 7, 2026. This event included participants from various schools, including the RGLSOSS, SOH, GBSEALD, JGSOM, and SOSE. The initiative aimed to provide newcomers with an opportunity to explore the campus and facilitate connections with peers from different disciplines, promoting a sense of community beyond their specific academic programs.

Campus Tour Highlights

During the tour, students visited several key offices, such as the Office of the University Registrar, the Office of Health Services, and the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Graduate Education. They also toured their respective deans’ offices and departmental facilities. A notable element of the tour was a visit to both the Old and New Rizal Library, guided by Graduate Student Librarian Edzel Santos, which underscored the importance of research resources in graduate studies.

Online Orientation Session

In addition to the campus tour, an online orientation was organized to support new students further. This session addressed essential academic policies, available support services, and the research framework within Ateneo de Manila University, intended to facilitate the transition into graduate school.

About the Committee on Graduate Student Concerns

The CGSC is made up of student representatives from various departments, focusing on advocating for graduate student interests in higher education policies and administration. The campus tour is part of a series of initiatives for the 2025-2026 academic year, which also include the Writing Support Group and the Graduate Students’ Gathering, all aimed at fostering a more cohesive and supportive graduate student community.
