Yala Rajabhat University Enhances Global Paramedic Education Through International Collaboration in Japan

Yala Rajabhat University has participated in an academic exchange program in Japan aimed at enhancing the management of paramedic education. The program took place from January 13 to 16, 2026, under the leadership of Assistant Professor Dr. Sirichai Namburi, president of the university, along with the Dean and Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Public Health and Allied Health Sciences. This initiative was organized in collaboration with the Thailand Association of Paramedic Profession and several partner universities.

Delegation Composition

The delegation comprised executives and curriculum development committee members from various higher education institutions, including Chiang Rai Rajabhat University and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, along with academic experts from both public and private sectors. The primary objective of the program was to enhance understanding of Japan’s emergency medical service systems and educational management models, which are recognized for their high standards in paramedic training.

Engagement in Knowledge Sharing

During the four-day visit, the participants engaged in discussions and knowledge sharing with organizations such as the Tokyo Fire Academy and Nakano Fire Station, both of which provide certificate-level training programs for paramedics. Additionally, the delegation visited the Kokusai Iryo Fukushi Technical School in Chiba Prefecture, known for its two-year vocational education program, and prominent institutions such as Nippon Sport Science University in Yokohama and Kokushikan University in Tokyo, both offering four-year undergraduate programs in emergency medical and related sciences.

Impact on Paramedic Curriculum Development

This international academic engagement is considered a significant step for Yala Rajabhat University in developing a paramedic curriculum that meets global standards. The initiative is anticipated to strengthen international academic collaboration and further the university’s mission to enhance the quality of emergency medical personnel, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped and professionally prepared to serve within Thailand’s emergency medical service system sustainably.
