Dong A University Honors Vietnamese Teachers’ Day with 43rd Anniversary Celebration and Emulation Flag Award from Vietnam General Confederation of Labour

Dong A University recently held a ceremony to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20, 2025. The event featured the presentation of the Emulation Flag, awarded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour in recognition of the university’s achievements in the emulation movement related to work performance and the development of a strong trade union organization during the 2024–2025 academic year.

Recognition of Achievements

In addition to receiving the Emulation Flag, Dong A University highlighted its prior recognition from the People’s Committee of Da Nang City for exemplary contributions to local patriotic emulation movements during the period from 2020 to 2025. The celebration also marked the accomplishments of faculty and students, with the university reporting a total of 35 awards across various academic competitions, including foreign language contests, scientific research, startup initiatives, professional skills, arts, and sports, at both national and regional levels during the 2024–2025 academic year.

Leadership Address

Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, the President of Dong A University, addressed the attendees, emphasizing the institution’s diverse achievements. A significant milestone announced was the White Coat Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony for the International Doctor of Medicine Program, conducted on November 15, which welcomed new students from India and Vietnam. This reflects the university’s commitment to internationalization.

Quality Assurance and Research Initiatives

The university has made notable advancements in quality assurance, achieving national quality standards for 22 training programs and completing assessments for four programs under the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework. The institution reported 89 scientific publications in respected national and international journals and witnessed an increase in research and startup initiatives led by students, particularly in the use of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies.

Partnerships and Student Opportunities

In terms of partnerships and student employment, Dong A University established 65 new collaborations with enterprises, increasing the total to 761. Over the academic year, more than 300 students participated in international study, internship, and work programs across key global markets, bringing the cumulative total of students who have participated in such experiences to 990.

Community Support Initiatives

In addition to these accomplishments, the university has engaged in community support, contributing over 50 million VND to assist individuals affected by natural disasters in central provinces. Previously, nearly 600 million VND was provided to support residents impacted by flooding in northern and central regions, along with organized aid efforts for affected families.

Commitment to Future Goals

Dr. Dao underscored the university’s ongoing commitment to advancing its 17 strategic objectives, aimed at enhancing faculty and staff development while ensuring students are prepared to meet international work readiness criteria and promoting a culture of community service.
