Dai Nam University Lecturers’ Business Field Trips: Enhancing Teaching Through Real-World Experience

Dai Nam University emphasizes a training philosophy that prioritizes practical experience in education. This initiative encourages both students and lecturers to engage in field practices that provide insights into their respective fields. By immersing themselves in real-world business environments, lecturers can enhance the relevance and quality of their instruction through firsthand knowledge and practical skills.

Participation in Business Field Trips

Recently, faculty members from the Faculty of Logistics and International Business attended an intensive training course on Logistics and Supply Chain Management in Hai Phong, Vietnam’s largest logistics hub. During this three-day program, educators explored various aspects of the industry, including port operations, warehouse management, customs clearance processes, and advanced technologies such as Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and the Internet of Things (IoT). Discussions with leading businesses provided insights into global supply chain trends.

The Importance of Real-World Experience

Ms. Ngo Phuong Thao, a faculty member, highlighted the importance of educators understanding the realities of their profession to effectively prepare students for their future careers. The experiences gained during these field trips not only expand lecturers’ knowledge but also foster inspiration, facilitating more engaging classroom discussions.

Integrating Business Practices into Education

These excursions serve to integrate real business practices into academic lessons, helping to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Following each trip, lecturers introduce new technologies, industry standards, and real-life scenarios into their teaching.

Commitment to Lifelong Learning

Dai Nam University maintains that education should focus on active learning and professional engagement. Through this approach, the institution aims to cultivate graduates who possess not only theoretical knowledge but also the practical skills necessary for successful careers. These initiatives reflect the university’s commitment to lifelong learning and professional development for its teaching staff, ultimately benefiting students as they prepare to enter the workforce.
