Celebrating a Decade of Excellence: CTPR 2025 Masterclass at Multimedia University

The Converged Telecommunications Policy and Regulations (CTPR) Masterclass, specifically CTPR 2025 Cohort Two, occurred from October 6 to 10, 2025, at The Ritz-Carlton in Kuala Lumpur. The masterclass opened with remarks from Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of Multimedia University (MMU), who addressed attendees and keynote speakers regarding the theme “The Age of Intelligent Connectivity: 5G, AI, Security & Sustainability.” The event was officially inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Karim Fakir Ali, Managing Director of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
10th Anniversary of the CTPR Masterclass
This edition of the CTPR Masterclass marks its 10th anniversary, a program co-organized by MCMC, MMU through its commercial arm CNERGY, and the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA). Over its ten-year history, the program has supported more than 300 regulatory professionals from ASEAN and other regions in navigating the complexities of the digital landscape.
CTPR Masterclass 10th Anniversary Dinner
A significant milestone was recognized during the CTPR Masterclass 10th Anniversary Dinner, held on October 8, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur. The event welcomed distinguished attendees, including Tan Sri Dr. Halim Shafie, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, Mr. Niall Magennis from GSMA, and MCMC representatives, as well as members of the organizing committee. The evening included a montage honoring the contributions of individuals who have played pivotal roles in the Masterclass’s development.
Evolution of the CTPR Masterclass
The CTPR Masterclass continues to evolve in response to the changing landscape of telecommunications policy and regulation. It serves as a strategic platform for government officials, regulators, and industry stakeholders to gain deeper insights into emerging technologies, policy innovations, and trends, including 5G and artificial intelligence. By facilitating high-level discussions and practical knowledge exchanges, the program aims to strengthen regional collaboration and capacity building, ultimately fostering effective governance and sustainable growth in the digital economy.
