DWP Unsri Celebrates the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence with Engaging Activities

Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Sriwijaya University (UNSRI) marked the 80th anniversary of Indonesian Independence with a series of activities on August 11, 2025.
Event Participation
The event included participation from the DWP Chairperson of the KPA Unit, faculty representatives, and DWP members. Activities commenced with a reading of Yasin, which was followed by a choir performance from the DWP KPA Unit and songs from various faculty members. Additionally, a chain message competition was held, along with the distribution of door prizes intended to promote camaraderie and creativity among participants.
Strengthening Bonds
Ny. Nelly Paigawati Taufiq, Chairperson of DWP UNSRI, noted that the event served as more than just a formal gathering; it provided an opportunity to strengthen friendships and communal bonds. She emphasized the significance of August in relation to Indonesia’s struggle for independence and described the event’s theme as a call for unity among DWP UNSRI members in honoring Independence Day. Taufiq encouraged attendees to engage in both creativity and cooperation throughout the day’s planned activities.
Appreciation and Goals
Ny. Andriyanti Benyamin, Chairperson of the KPA Unit, expressed appreciation for the support received from DWP leadership and acknowledged the collaborative efforts of unit members in organizing the event. The goals included inspiring participants to uphold the values of independence and community spirit within DWP UNSRI.
Conclusion of the Celebration
The celebration concluded with the awarding of prizes to competition winners and musical performances, creating a festive atmosphere. This event aimed to reinforce a sense of loyalty and patriotism within the UNSRI community.
