MMU and UniPin Partner to Enhance Esports Development and Education Collaborations
Multimedia University (MMU) has established a strategic partnership with UniPin (M) Sdn. Bhd., a notable player in the digital entertainment sector, to enhance collaboration between the industry and academia. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on February 4, 2025, at the Cyberjaya campus. The agreement was formalized by MMU President, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, and Ms. Debora Imanuella, Senior Vice President of UniPin.
Objectives of the Collaboration
The primary objective of this collaboration is to strengthen the esports ecosystem at MMU while creating a supportive learning environment for students. The partnership plans to introduce programs designed to develop local esports leaders and talent, as well as to provide project-based learning opportunities, internships, and exposure to the industry. Additionally, it will feature knowledge-sharing initiatives, including forums, seminars, and workshops aimed at enhancing soft skills, leadership capabilities, and professional development.
Connecting Academia with Industry
Through this MoU, MMU and UniPin strive to connect academic pursuits with industry demands, foster innovation, and prepare students for career opportunities in the digital entertainment and esports sectors. The signing ceremony also included attendance from notable figures such as Ir. Prof. Dr. Zulfadzli Yusoff, Vice President of Market Exploration, Engagement, and Touchpoint (MEET); Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Junaidi Abdullah, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Informatics; faculty members; representatives from the Student Lifestyle and Experience office; and other officials from MMU. Members of the MMU Esports Club, led by President Aiden Chan Kai Ming, also participated in the event.
