FOE Students Engage in Asia International Security Summit & Expo 2025 (AISSE’25) at Multimedia University

On January 22, 2025, approximately 40 students from the Faculty of Engineering at Multimedia University participated in the Asia International Security Summit & Expo 2025 (AISSE’25), held at the Putrajaya International Convention Center. They were accompanied by lecturers, Professor Ir. Dr. Hezerul Karim and Mr. Haris Lye.

A Platform for Advancements in Security Technology

The AISSE’25 provided a platform for leaders from both local and international industries to present advancements in security technology. The summit aimed to offer insights into emerging trends in public safety, national security, and security management.

Exploring 5G Technology’s Impact on National Security

Students engaged in the AISSE’25 Summit Plenary Forum entitled “Securing the Future: Leveraging 5G Technology to Strengthen National Security.” This forum explored the significant impact of 5G technology on national security, focusing on its potential to improve cyber threat detection and enhance the safeguarding of networks against online scams and cybercrime.

The session featured prominent speakers, including YB Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohamed Fadzil, Minister of Communications, and Mr. Neil Tomkinson, Chief Information Officer at U Mobile, with moderation by Puan Eneng Faridah bt Iskandar, Chief Enforcement Officer at the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

Gaining Valuable Experience

Participation in this event allowed Multimedia University students to gain exposure to innovative security technologies and deepened their understanding of the role that technology plays in shaping the future of national security.
