National Academy of Engineering of Korea Welcomes New Members for 2025: Seven Professors from Hanyang University Appointed

The National Academy of Engineering of Korea has announced its new members for 2025, which includes seven professors from Hanyang University. The academy’s new membership consists of 48 regular members and 69 associate members.

About the National Academy of Engineering of Korea

Established in June 1996, the National Academy of Engineering of Korea is dedicated to promoting engineering and technology while identifying talented individuals in these fields. Membership is awarded following a thorough evaluation process focused on contributions to national development through research and technological innovations within academia, industry, and other organizations. Newly appointed members transition from a group of associate members and serve a five-year term, with total membership limited to 300.

New Members from Hanyang University

The newest members include 23 from the industry, 25 from academia, and five from Hanyang University. The professors appointed from Hanyang University are Chang Joon-hyuk from the School of Electronic Engineering, Song Si-mon from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Park Jae-woo from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Choi Chang-sik from the School of Architectural Engineering, and Ko Min-jae from the Department of Chemical Engineering.

Recognizing Associate Members

In addition, the academy revealed the list of 69 associate members who have demonstrated significant achievements during their affiliation with the academy for over 15 years. From Hanyang University, the notable faculty members included are Min Seung-jae from the Department of Automotive Engineering and Im Chang-hwan from the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Contributions to Engineering and Technology

The professors from Hanyang University have made substantial contributions to engineering through their innovative research and development activities, which connect academia and industry. Their ongoing work is expected to facilitate further advancements in engineering and technology.
